is crazy. Imagine that. I now want a gigantic set of 6 pistons and huge disks for the front, even if just for the visual.

I’m not usually a fan of modern rims on old vehicles, but I don’t mind it here

Did you just swap a whole front subframe in?

Yup, it is a full front Crown Vic swap, with appropriate bracing. I have a set of QA1 coilovers still to throw in the front. But I swear whoever designed the 2003+ CV front subframe was just looking to make something that would fit his F100.

I got them for crazy cheap. But I am liking them more than I thought I might. I am still going to go with a modern wheel but something more expensive like a Forgestar M14 or BBS LM or something.

I adore my F100, and my TL (soon to be swapped with something else). The Xterra is my neighbor’s. But I agree, a good 3 car setup!

I thought it was a TSX but TLs are great too.

I never thought I would say this of this truck but it has become a full on momentum car. Even with the new cam, the grip is far more than the power.

What did you use to convert the front to discs? Scrounge used parts or a kit? I’ve got an 88' AMC Eagle that I want to swap bigger calipers onto the front axle, and convert the rears to discs too. Drums r dumb. It’s a bit too heavy for brakes AMC gave it.

It is actually the full aluminum front subframe from a 2011 Crown Vic. They do make a kit or two for disc swap but I wanted the steering too.

How easy was it? That one bolts in right? No welding required?

SAY........ that makes it like one of those old british roadsters, or a miata........... not a whole lot of break-away power, but they sure can hold a corner......... those cornering Gs sure are addicitve, especially in something like an old truck, that was never meant to corner.........
i was telling someone else about my other truck here, its an awd blazer, with short wide tires. stupid thing corners like its on rails............
way more fun than they should be...........
so........... gonna keep the inline6 around for a while longer? or are you dead set on getting rid of it?

Yeah, the 300 is going to hit the trash soon. I already bought a 2jz to slide in there. I am thinking about trying to absolutely maximize the hell out of the 300 first though. It already has a monster Crane Cam, and ported head. I kinda want to throw a cheap blow thu turbo set up on it until it explodes but I am not sure I will take the time to do all the fab work for that.

yeah, i had remembered seeing where you were going to ditch it SOON, a while back......... from what i understand, just opening up the intake(4 barrel/larger runners) helps the 6 breathe..........
would be a lot of work JUST for killing it.........
thats some nice work you been doing...........

As far as full suspension upgrades go, very easy. It takes a metric shit ton of measuring but once you get that it is only drilling 6 holes away from it bolting right up.
The only real fab work that needed to be done was some custom mounts for the trailing arms and of course the engine mounts. But that was it.
